PCTAD attends the LIFE 2016 symposium in Madrid

By: PCTAD

During June 15-16th, personnel from PCTAD represented the Freshbox project by attending the LIFE 2016 symposium organized by the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Montes, Forestal y del Medio Natural of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The event this year was named “New trends and challenges in contaminated soil recovery” and included presentations from experts from all around the country.

During both days, many debates and lectures were given, as well as formal presentations of 4 LIFE projects: BIOXISOIL (LIFE 11 ENV/ES/000505), I+Darts (LIFE11 ENV/ES/000547), DISCOVERED LIFE (LIFE12 ENV/ES/000761), y Riverphy (LIFE11 ENV/ES/000506). As well as particular sessions divided throughout the day, the attendees were also able to take advantage of the separate moments focused on networking, in order to showcase their projects and look for synergies and common themes, such as the importance of minimizing the carbon footprint of activities that use resources inefficiently and contaminate the environment.
